Get Involved…
And make a difference!
It’s time to “do what’s right!”There are numerous ways to get involved, starting right where we are, with what we have… Some may wish to organize a community clean up day in partnership with local public schools and churches, and demonstrate the level of personal mastery that their students have achieved while creating a safer environment.
Yet for many, the biggest impact is made when martial artists work in partnership with community schools and churches to teach the [martial] values that will help young people make positive and ethical choices over their lifetimes.
In fact, this is one of the most effective ways to increase enrollment in martial arts schools. Why? Because the natural result from “values training” from local HEROES carry over into discussions with family members that often result increased awareness regarding the benefits that martial training through participating schools can have in their community.
In this way, local martial artists can easily become the positive role models that our children are so desperately in need of… while increasing their exposure to, and desire to participate in the martial tradition through a school near them.
Fortunately, these activities take little time to execute – but with persistence, the cumulative outcome will include a tremendous amount of good. This good will likely manifest itself in the form of increased referrals, enrollment, retention and profits for participating martial arts schools and other community stakeholders.
It’s the ultimate WIN:WIN scenario!
It’s about action
For many, time constraints prohibit them from participating in activities like those mentioned above. Although a few hours per month to tell a story, clean up a playground or deliver groceries for the elderly isn’t much to ask, for some it is. In these cases, other types of involvement might include giving, in the form of money, food, clothing, etc. works just as well.
The key is to ALWAYS give back!
